a few hours ago, a bird hit my bedroom window. i rushed out to find it on the ground, its neck limp and its body still warm. i wanted nothing more than to breathe life back into it but it was probably dead before i even reached it. i waited for it to wake up but its body grew cold and stiff.
i buried it and cried for many minutes. i made this song mostly in an effort to stop crying, but i dedicate it to the small bird that inspired it.
